I support the proposal to replace the outdated Meadbank Care Home with a purpose-built Integrated Retirement Community, delivering around 150 high-quality care beds that respond directly to Wandsworth’s growing need for modern, specialist accommodation for older people, including dementia and nursing care.

I support the high-quality architectural approach, which delivers a well-designed and carefully considered building, using appropriate scale, materials and detailing to ensure the development sits comfortably within the surrounding neighbourhood and enhances the appearance of this prominent site.

I support the sustainable design strategy, which prioritises a fully electric, energy-efficient building, incorporating green roofs, renewable technologies and enhanced planting to improve biodiversity, reduce carbon emissions and deliver long-term environmental benefits.

I support the inclusion of community-facing facilities, including a publicly accessible café and meeting spaces for local groups, which will help the development feel open, welcoming and genuinely connected to the surrounding community.

I support the delivery of significant social and economic benefits, with over 100 new long-term jobs across care, hospitality and support roles, apprenticeships targeted at local people and continued employment opportunities for existing staff.

I support the provision of high-quality residential accommodation for older people, with thoughtfully designed living spaces that promote comfort, dignity and independence, enabling residents to age in place in a safe and supportive environment.
