Account Director - London focus

The role

With a rapidly expanding team working on a range of projects across London, we are now looking to recruit an Account Director to support our work in the capital.

Working with the London Directors and Managing Director, you will be responsible for overseeing a wide portfolio of projects, while maintaining and growing strong commercial partnerships with our clients. You will work with the Directors to drive new business and actively contribute to the wider business development programme.

Concilio is a communications agency that specialises in political and stakeholder engagement to support a range of property sector clients. Our growing team works on a number of major projects across London and the Eastern Region, offering our clients political insight and innovative engagement strategies to bring people together and make better places.

Our clients include Local Authorities, Housing Associations, House Builders and a number of commercial focussed businesses.

About you

We are looking for a talented individual with a background in public affairs, politics, communications and / or public consultation. You will have experience working within the communications side of the development and property sectors and experience working with a network of political and commercial contacts in London.

You will be willing and able to develop strong working relationships with clients, run projects and accounts independently with strategic oversight and organise and attend meaningful engagement events for the projects that we currently have. The ability to generate new business and contribute to our business development strategy would be beneficial.

You will be a highly motivated, commercially focussed, enthusiastic self-starter with a passion for operating across the public affairs, stakeholder engagement and community consultation sectors. You are outgoing and adaptable and able to build rapport quickly both internally and externally.

You will take the lead in understanding the client brief, developing strategies to deliver valuable results, and leading the team to deliver integrated communications programmes on time and within budget. As a key member of the senior team, you will be responsible for the success of your accounts, playing a leading role in new business pitches and proposals.

Responsibilities and Duties

Your responsibilities will include managing all aspects of projects and programmes, delivering them on time and to the highest standards. You will allocate tasks to the wider team so that everyone is working efficiently, maintaining and advancing good client relationships.

Establish and nurture strong working relationship with clients and stakeholders, developing and maintaining an understanding of clients’ commercial objectives

Help clients achieve their objectives through strategic communications advice and the development of effective strategic programmes

Manage and deliver projects in collaboration with colleagues – ensuring projects run smoothly, on time and to budget

Actively seek out and pitch for new business, consider new opportunities and lead in the production of fee proposals and pitch presentations

As part of the senior team, spot opportunities for the company to grow and suggest improvements to the day-to-day running of a fast growing company

Facilitate engagement meetings and participate in events while developing targeted engagement strategies to support the key objectives of the projects

Essential Skills

Experience working within property and planning public affairs

Project management skills and the ability to work across several projects at the same time

“A strong understanding of how local government works and a network of political contacts

A clear understanding of the planning sector

A strong understanding of how stakeholder and community engagement works, including the role those stakeholders play in determining key investment and planning related decisions

Excellent writing and good presentation skills

Willingness to think creatively, looking at new way to effectively communicate key messages

An ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues and clients

Interview/Start Dates
