The Joint Development Control Committee of Cambridge and South Cambridgeshire District Council approved the plans from Vertex Living for a major mixed-use development at the site of the former NIAB HQ on Huntingdon Road, Cambridge.

The JTP designed masterplan proposals include 291 new build-to-rent homes, a 202 room apart-hotel and over 1,250 sqm of uses that include co-working space, a cycle hub and a microbrewery.

Concilio undertook the bulk of consultation work in lockdown, but ensured a comprehensive process was followed. This included a comprehensive website, webinar and numerous online meetings with local residents and stakeholders.

The Planning Committee praised the engagement undertaken with the local community and how the scheme responded to their comments.
