Queensway Parade: Planning Approval Secured
WCC approves 94 homes, new shops, and public realm upgrades, praising affordable housing and sensitive design.
Westminster City Council has unanimously approved Vabel’s plans to transform Queensway Parade – a project we’ve proudly supported through consultation.

The scheme will deliver 94 new homes, including 35 affordable, eight new retail units, and public realm and safety upgrades.

Councillors strongly welcomed the affordable housing offer, which exceeds Westminster’s policy requirement, delivering 70% social rent and 30% intermediate homes in a fully tenure-blind design. They also praised the scheme’s sustainability credentials and welcomed that the design evolved to create a scheme that responds sensitively to Queensway’s unique character, complementing The Whiteley opposite – which we have supported for over a decade – and works with the high street’s ongoing regeneration to deliver lasting benefits for the community.

The committee agreed the proposals offer greater public benefit, improved housing, and a more sympathetic design than the previous consent.
