Concilio has been supporting the latest stage of engagement on Shaftesbury Capital’s plans to enhance the public realm across Carnaby Street.
Last week, a community check-in event brought together over 30 local residents, businesses and stakeholders to review emerging concept designs and share feedback on how the proposals have evolved since last year’s early engagement.
The designs have been shaped by feedback from the first phase of consultation, alongside ongoing discussions with Westminster City Council, and explore how Carnaby Street could be made greener, more accessible and better connected, while remaining true to its distinctive character.
Discussions at the event focused on how well the proposals respond to earlier input, with attendees providing valuable insights on greening, accessibility and the overall character of the street. This feedback will help to sense-check the direction of travel and inform the next stage of design development.
Shaftesbury Capital’s ambition is to celebrate and reinvigorate Carnaby Street’s unique identity, building on what people already value about the area while ensuring it continues to thrive in the future. At this stage, proposals are focused on Carnaby Street, with further design development to follow.
