Peabody, Transport for London & Vistry Partnerships are working in partnership to bring forward proposals for Barkingside Yard. The development will deliver new affordable homes, enhanced public realm close to Barkingside underground station and improved local biodiversity. The site is allocated within the Redbridge Local Plan for residential use and for bringing forward new homes for the local community.
The proposals for Barkingside Yard will deliver c.98 new high-quality, affordable homes in Redbridge, with a mix of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom properties to help meet demand. The new homes will offer a range of tenures, including Shared Ownership for first-time buyers as well as London Affordable Rents.
Concilio has facilitated a comprehensive consultation, reaching local residents, community groups and political representatives.
We organised and chaired meetings with local political representatives with engagement still ongoing. We also held an in-person event outside Barkingside station that was attended by over 100 people and a webinar to ensure the consultation was fully accessible. Another in-person event will follow on Saturday 18th June in a location close to the site.
The consultation was advertised by a flyer drop to the local area, invitations sent to local community groups and a social media campaign encompassing a variety of platforms.
