Concilio Engages Local Primary School in Creative Mural Project for Wyvil Court Development
Bringing Architecture and Community Together Through Education and Art
Concilio has been actively engaging with Wyvil Primary School as part of the Wyvil Court development project. The Wyvil Court development, managed by Citygrove on behalf of Staycity Group, will transform a empty office building into a modern and sustainable hotel. The project aims to regenerate the site, bringing much-needed economic activity to the area and opening up the site for everyone with a new co-working café.

Recently, Concilio facilitated an assembly for Citygrove, and EPR Architects to visit the school to present this exciting project to the children. They introduced the concept of architecture and murals, explaining how these elements play a crucial role in the development of the new Wyvil Court hotel. The children were thrilled to learn about the project and were invited to contribute their creative ideas for a mural that will be showcased one of the hotel’s walls facing the school playground.

Tom Fuller, Development Director at Citygrove, stated that “We're excited to partner with Wyvil Primary School on this mural project as part of the proposals for a new Staycity aparthotel located at Wyvil Court. It's a great way to involve the children in showcasing their creativity. The mural will be a standout feature of the hotel's architecture, reflecting the vibrant local spirit in Vauxhall. We look forward to hosting the children at the EPR Architect’s studio for some design workshops.’'

This initiative is part of Concilio's commitment to fostering community involvement and ensuring that the new development feels like a friendly part of the local area. The mural project aims to reflect the vibrant spirit of the school and its community, making the space more welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.

In the coming weeks, the Wyvil Court project team will hold a workshop at the EPR Architect studios, where the children will have the opportunity to further develop their mural designs and learn more about the architectural process. This hands-on experience will not only enhance their understanding of architecture but also allow them to see their creative ideas come to life in a meaningful way.
