Planning permission granted for 96 new homes in Ravenswood, Ipswich

Concilio worked closely with Boyer Planning and KLH Architects for Handford Homes to secure planning permission for 96 new homes at Ravenswood in Ipswich. Ipswich Borough Council’s Planning Committee consented the scheme in March 2021 by ten votes to one.

Councillor Carole Jones said:

I really welcome this application. We have a real need to build homes and these homes are in line with the greatest needs of Ipswich people on our housing register.

She said the designs were “exemplary” and added:

This will transform the life chances of people who are in unfit housing now – it’s really good news for Ipswich."

Concilio provided bespoke, digital consultation and communications for the project which took place from July to August 2020. Our suite of digital engagement tools enabled us to hold a comprehensive engagement and ensure the project was able to remain on its scheduled timeframe.

All of the consultation took place using Concilio’s digital Your Say platform and led to large levels of engagement from the local community.

The development will bring forward housing types ranging from one to five bedrooms including houses, flats and bungalows, and 65% will be affordable. Plans also include new walking and cycling routes and landscaped green edging.
