Draft Enfield Local Plan progresses to Reg 19 consultation

At Enfield’s Full Council meeting last night the Draft Local Plan was approved. The Plan proposes:
- 2 settlement size releases of Green Belt land for essential housing, employment, and infrastructure needs (13% of the Green Belt).
- A strong focus on family and affordable housing to meet critical needs.
- Approximately 34,000 new homes and 300,000 sqms of new employment/industrial land to foster growth and investment.
- Delivering new hard, soft, green, and blue infrastructure to support residents, communities and businesses.
- Enhancing open spaces and countryside access.
- Commitment to achieving a 20% biodiversity net gain.
The next step is for the Regulation 19 consultation to begin on 28th March.
