Concilio has launched a second round of public consultation on behalf of NEAT Developments and BlackRock on detailed proposals to reimagine Uplands Business Park introducing new homes, retail and food options while retaining the rich industrial history of the site.
This phase of Consultation follows a successful earlier round of community engagement in July 2021 where local residents had the opportunity to engage with the early plans and principles of the redevelopment.
NEAT Developments and BlackRock are now consulting with the local community on the updated proposals that incorporated community feedback, where possible. The sustainable proposals plan to provide new innovative stacked industrial buildings to allow for flexible uses, new open and green spaces with Wetlands Waterside Park and approximately 1800 new homes.
The first phase will bring forward 18,000sqm of flexible industrial space and 119 new homes with the rest of the proposals to follow in several sub-phases. The redevelopment will celebrate Waltham Forest’s exciting culture with plans to create a sustainable 15-minute neighbourhood where people will be able to live, work and enjoy.
Concilio created a bespoke website and hosted two in-person exhibitions. The exhibitions were attended by a total of over 100 people, a mix of residents and businesses. Concilio also created an innovative social media campaign across four different platforms to widen the consultation representation.
Over the coming months, Concilio will engage further with stakeholders ahead of a planning submission to Waltham Forest Council.
