We’re excited to share some great news: Kanda Consulting and Concilio are coming together, bringing our teams under the Kanda brand to create the UK’s largest and strongest communications consultancy in the built-environment.
By combining our strengths, experience and people, we’re creating a more capable, more connected and more resilient consultancy at exactly the moment the sector needs it most.
The transaction is expected to formally complete by the 1st of June 2026, after which Concilio will be fully integrated into Kanda.
Why we’re doing this
The built environment is changing fast. Political cycles are shorter, scrutiny is higher and the expectations placed on developers and regeneration specialists continue to grow. By coming together, we’re building a consultancy that’s better equipped to meet this challenge head‑on. One that combines deep political understanding, strong communications, creative thinking and practical delivery – all brought together in a single, integrated team.
The result is simple: better advice, more confident communications and greater clarity for our clients, from early strategy through to delivery and long‑term stewardship.
Built for what comes next
Together, we’re creating a business designed for the post‑local‑elections environment and beyond.
Our combined offer brings together:
- Our Strategic planning communications
- Senior-level political and public affairs counsel at local and national levels
- Media relations and strategic communications to support reputational positioning
- Community and stakeholder engagement
- Creative and digital design
This is backed by strong experience across inner and outer London, key regional markets and the full breadth of political perspectives, giving us the insight and judgement to help clients navigate change, complexity and opportunity with confidence.
What our leadership team says:
Karen Alcock, Founder and CEO of Kanda Consulting, said:
“This merger represents a natural and exciting evolution for both our organisations. By joining forces, we will create the UK’s largest independent built-environment focused agency, with the breadth, depth and experience required to help clients thrive in a fast‑shifting and more fragmented political and development landscape.”
Nick Dines, Founder and Managing Director of Concilio, added:
“There’s a real energy in bringing these two teams together. We share values, ambition and a belief in working collaboratively and thoughtfully. Combining our strengths allows us to offer clients the scale and insight they need – without losing the personal, senior‑led approach they value.”
Nick will join Kanda as Managing Director, alongside Simon Gartshore, Deputy Managing Director, as part of an expanded and strengthened senior leadership team that includes a strong cohort of specialist Directors.
How we’ll grow together
Our combined consultancy strengthens and broadens the support available to clients, who will have access to a broader and more sophisticated suite of services. These include enhanced multi-party political engagement to reflect a more fragmented landscape, as well as elevated creative / digital community engagement. We will be supporting clients with a transformational and responsible approach to AI, along with enhanced B2B studio support.
One team, one brand – and a lot to look forward to
Following completion, we’ll operate as a 55+ strong consultancy under the Kanda brand. Clients will benefit from increased capacity, broader senior input and deeper expertise, while continuing to work with the people and teams they know and trust.
We’re hugely excited about what’s ahead and look forward to sharing more as we move forward, together.
