Consultation and political engagement for Great Portland Estate’s proposed re-development of city House and City Tower

Concilio were appointed to undertake consultation and political engagement for Great Portland Estate’s proposed re-development of City Place House and City Tower.

Proposals include the redevelopment of City Place House to create a new 12-storey building (to be known as 2 Aldermanbury Square) which will provide 43,112 sqm of modern office space.

The scheme is also set to deliver some excellent public benefits including an impressive new ground floor creating a greener and more open public space, a new pedestrian route between London Wall and Basinghall Street, improvements to the City Walkway and exemplary sustainability credentials.

Concilio organised a digital-first method of engagement (due to lockdown restriction) which included a consultation website, webinar and digital briefings with Alastair Moss (Chair of the Planning and Transportation Committee); Bassishaw ward members; the Barbican Resident’s Association; and nearby Livery companies.

In June, the development was approved by the City Corporation’s Planning and Transportation Committee.

We were delighted to work with an expert project team including DP9 and Allies and Morrison.
