Historic Custom House set for transformation following planning approval
Heritage-led redevelopment to deliver a new cultural destination in the Square Mile
The City of London Corporation has approved Jastar Capital’s plans for the sensitive refurbishment and redevelopment of Custom House on Lower Thames Street.
The Grade I listed building, long closed to the public, will be carefully transformed into a high-quality 179-room hotel with new restaurants, bars, and one of the City’s best event venues. The heritage-led scheme will also deliver a revitalised riverside public realm, an inclusive cultural programme, and significant new public access to one of the City’s most important historic buildings.
Concilio is proud to have supported the project by developing and delivering the consultation and engagement strategy, ensuring that local voices shaped the proposals and helping to secure over 20 letters of support.
