Wyvil Court transformation approved
New aparthotel to bring jobs, investment and community benefits to Vauxhall and Nine Elms
On Tuesday evening, Lambeth’s Planning Committee approved the redevelopment of Wyvil Court, paving the way for a new sustainable aparthotel that will deliver lasting benefits for the local area.
Brought forward by Citygrove Securities Limited and operated by Staycity Group, with design by EPR Architects and planning advice from DP9 Limited, the scheme will create 185 aparthotel rooms alongside a co-working café at ground floor. The project will generate over 100 jobs, with a target of 25% for Lambeth residents, apprenticeships, and training opportunities, while also boosting the local economy with an estimated £77 million of visitor spending over the next decade.
Replacing a vacant 1980s office block, the new building will feature active street frontages, green roofs, improved landscaping and lighting, and an energy-efficient design to BREEAM Excellent standards. These measures will make Wyvil Road safer, more attractive, and more sustainable.

A highlight of the project has been its partnership with neighbouring Wyvil Primary School. Pupils have co-designed a colourful mural, taken part in architecture workshops, and will benefit from new playground improvements funded by the development. The school has praised the way the project has inspired pupils and sparked their interest in urban design and architecture.
